Good Reason #2

The second reason for choosing such a grave name (pardon the pun) is that we believe it is important to keep a fun, light-hearted attitude while working hard towards an important goal.

Our Curious Name
Our Not-So-Curious Neighbors

Graveyard Vineyards sits atop a picturesque hill on Estrella Road, neighboring historic Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Our southern neighbor is J. Lohr Vineyards and further surrounding us are Silver Horse Vineyards and Vina Robles Vineyards.

The clay loam soil of this Paso Robles region brings out intensely scented grapes with fresh sweet fragrances and wonderfully multifaceted flavors.

Graveyard Vineyards might sound like a curious name but, in all seriousness, we are about growing the best grapes that the Paso Robles area can offer.

We named our ranch Graveyard Vineyards for two good reasons. At least, we think they are good! See what you think:

Good Reason #1

The first and main reason is that our ranch is next to the historic Pleasant Valley Cemetery in San Miguel, California. When walking through this small country landmark, your imagination runs wild with stories that could be told of cowboys and life in the late 1800s.

Beneath the old oak trees are memories of how our American ancestors created their own homesteads in the golden hills of California. We honor the memory of these homesteaders by reminding everyone how our lives have changed over the past century.
